Rita Marie Gomez Granados June 6, 1980 ? October 26, 2009 Rita Marie Gomez Granados was born in Austin, Texas on June 6, 1980 and was called into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Francisco Gomez Sr. and infant son, Steve Anthony Granados. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, niece, cousin, granddaughter and friend to many. She is survived by her husband Steve Granados, two children Abbygail, age 7 and Enoch, age 4, parents Frank and Jean Gomez, brother Frankie Gomez, grandmother Betty Ruth Gomez, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved her very much. Rita was a graduate of Del Valle High School and medical school. She worked as an office manager for Dr. Robert Stroud for approximately 11 years. She loved custom cars, music, in particular the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bob Marley and her father and uncles Frank, Joe and Danny Gomez, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with family. She was lovingly nicknamed "Little Granny" and will be remembered for being a great mother to her children. In the words of the Bob Marley song "Three Little Birds", Rita's message to them would be: "Don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright." Rita will always be remembered for her smile, her compassion and her willingness to help others. Her family and friends will miss her dearly but will forever cherish the happy memories they shared. The family will receive visitors at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South 1st in Austin on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:00 am with burial immediately following at Assumption Cemetery.
