Obituary of Maria Salda?a

Mara Santos Perez Salda?a graduated to the fullness of life on July 11, 2000. She was born in Miquihuana, Tamaulipas on August 1, 1907 to Jacobo Perez and Victoriana Marquez. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 46 years, Juan Z. Salda?a and two grandchildren, Johnny and Ernest Salda?a.
?Santitos,? as she was affectionately known to all who knew her, was a loving and caring person. She knew no strangers. She was the love of all her grandchildren, some of whom she reared from infancy.
A founding member of Emmanuel Methodist Church of over 76 years, she loved her church and for as long as anyone can remember, she took gifts of flowers to the church every Sunday for her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by sons Moses Perez Salda?a, Sr. & wife, Anna Maria; Daniel Perez Salda?a & wife, Rebecca; Johnny Perez Salda?a and wife Juanita; daughters, Eva S. Lopez; Librada Salda?a; Noemi S. Franco and Mara S. Cohorst; brother, Manuel Perez,and 35 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren and many other family members.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staffs of the Critical Care Area of Brackenridge Hospital and Specialty Hospital at St. David?s Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, with a prayer service at 7:30 at Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez Street. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Emmanuel Methodist Church, 200 Brushy St., with Pastor Michael Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Baxter, Carl, Craig Franco; Captain Moses P. Salda?a, Jr., USMC; Robert S. Lopez and Cruz Salda?a. Honorary pallbearers will be other grandsons and granddaughters.
