Concepcion (Rod) Rodriguez, age 76 passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2009. Born on December 8, 1932 in Mendoza, Texas to Parents; Pablo and Maria Rodriguez. His Daughter; Judy Rodriguez preceded him in death on June 22, 2008. A Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Survived by his Beloved Wife; Henrietta, along with 2 Sons; Paul Rodriguez and Concepcion Rodriguez, Jr., 1 Daughter; Lisa Rodriguez-Cisneros and Husband Juan, 2 Granddaughters; Victoria and Elisabeth Cisneros, 2 Sisters; Janie Baldazo and Husband Gilbert, Feliza Lewter and Husband David, one Brother; Willie Rodriguez and Wife Emily, along with numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Rod as many people knew him by was enlisted in the Army in 1953 and served our country till 1961 where he received 3 medals. There he fought in the Korean War and returned to defend his country by serving in the National Guard. He then worked for the Pepsi Cola Company for a while, before taking on a job with Austin Concessions.
Pallbearers are; Willie Rodriguez, Jr., Eddie Rodriguez, Mel Salazar, Bobby Balandran, Joey Duran and Jason Rodriguez.
Recitation of Holy Rosary on Tuesday at 7:00p.m. at Mission Funeral Home-Remembrance Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Francisco Villegas Mu?oz, OMF Conv. officiating. Internment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
