Victoria Mendoza Tristan 1918-2009Victoria Mendoza Tristan Nov. 17, 1918 - Feb. 6, 2009 Born, November 17, 1918, in Mexico. Passed, Friday, February 6, 2009, in Austin, Tex., at the age of 90. Preceded in death by mother, Prisca Tristan, father, Mauricio Mendoza, son, Francisco Castillo, daughters, Angelica, Bertha, Ofelia and Gabriela Castillo. First husband, Ildefonso Castillo. She is survived by husband, Guadalupe Cruz; children, Pedro Castillo (Carmen), Jose Castillo (Rosa), Dolores Leal (Cruz), Carmen Padilla and Pete Cruz of Mexico, Carmen Alvarado (Hector) Raul Cruz (Doris), Laura Cruz and Paula Cruz of Austin; 44 grandchildren, 82 great-granchildren, 25 great-great-granchildren. Vicky (Paloma) was a Homemaker and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Vicky was a very loving and giving person. She was strong until the end. Serving as Pallbearers will be grandsons, Pedro Castillo, Albert Islas, Jorge Maldonado, David Maldonado, Salvador Noria and Gary Noria. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 7:00, Monday, February 9, 2009. Prayer Service, 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street. (South). Funeral Service, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
