Our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Elida Garcia, age 68 of Austin, TX, passed away, January 26, 2009. She was born September 21, 1940 in Elroy, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Garcia, daughter, Kelly Denise, parents, Gonzalo and Geronima Riojas and a Niece, Adelita (Del) Martinez. She is survived by her sons, Derek and Eric; daughters, Jessica Garcia and Erika Guerra, Sisters, Eloisa Colunga, Elisa Riojas, Pauline Castillo, Eugenia Alvarez, Enriqueta Balderas and Mary Ann Carmona and brothers, Gonzalo, Ernest and Pete Riojas and 5 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be, Steven Riojas, Jose Riojas, Carlos Balderas, Michael Carmona, Pete Riojas, Jr., Augustine Espinosa, Noel Valdez and James Colunga.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary, 7:00 p.m., Friday, Mission Funeral Home-Remembrance Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Jesse Euresti officiating. Interment will be on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10:00am, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
