Andy Keith Sims, 57, died early Wednesday, January 7, at his hill country home near Austin. Keith won respect for his work in Austin as a talented Jeweler and Graduate Gemologist for 20 years.He was also a caring and gentle soul with a lively wit and a passion for music. With guitar as his main instrument, he impressed everyone with his improvisational skills. He was a gifted songwriter and performing artist with strong vocal talent as well. Keith leaves behind the sound of his recorded gifts.
Keith Sims was born November 8, 1951, in Spartanburg, SC. He was the son of James Charles Sims and Mildred Byrley Sims.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Endres Sims; his sister, Rose Vallette Batson of Austin; his brothers, James Charles Sims, Jr. of Lake Worth, and Leon Douglas Sims of Granbury.
A private memorial service will be held for all friends and family Sunday, January 11, 2 p.m. at the Sims residence.
