Michael Hoyt Casteel Jul. 13th, 1945- Dec. 8th, 2008Mike died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family as he had wished. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, (Mickey and Hoyt Casteel), as well as two brothers, (Ricky and Steve Casteel). He was also preceded in death by his sister in law (Mary Mooney) who had passed away this past June. Michael was happy to have been baptised at Gateway Church this year at age 63. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his two sons Eric and Marc, his daughter Debi, and a sister (Patricia Tullous) as well as several nieces and nephews. Mike graduated from Garland High School and attended The University of Texas in Austin. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard and remained in the reserves for several years. He worked with his father in the oil and gas business, then several semiconductor businesses in Dallas, Garland, and Austin. A memorial service will be held at Mission Funeral Home, 6204 South 1st Street, on Saturday 20th at 11:00 AM. His final resting place will be in San Antonio at Fort Sam Houston in the military wall.
