Juan Pacheco 1923-2008Juan Pacheco, age 84, of Austin, passed away Wednesday December 10, 2008. He was born December 27, 1923 in Riverdale, Texas to Juan and Carmen Pacheco. He was preceded in death by his wife Ester Pacheco and two brothers. He is survived by his sister, Olga Hinojosa (Uvaldo)of Corpus Christi; daughter, Rebecca Molina of Austin; three sons, Alfino Garcia, Juan Pacheco Jr. (Rosa), Gilbert Pacheco (Connie), all of Corpus Christi; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren. Juan dedicated his life to his country and family. During his service in WWII, he was wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart. Juan took great pride in entertaining his family and friends by telling jokes, Mexican folklore, and performing magic tricks. He led by example in teaching us a strong work ethic and family values. When he wasn?t spending time with his family, he enjoyed shooting pool, playing poker and dominoes. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7pm, Friday, December 12, 2008 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel in Austin. Funeral Service will be conducted at 9:30 am, Saturday, December 13, 2008. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Juan will remain in our hearts and lives forever.
