Nicolasa V. Torres 1915-2008Nicolasa Torres, Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister, age 92, left us to be with our Heavenly Father on May 20, 2008. She was born on Sept. 10, 1915 in Cedar Creek, Texas to Epifanio and Bernadina Valenzuela. She is preceded in death by husband, Jesus Torres; sons, Roberto and Ramon Torres; her parents; 2 sisters and a brother. Survivors include daughters Amelia Vega, husband Martin; Lupe Chapa, husband Joe; son Modesto Torres, wife Isidra and daughter Janie Davila; brother, Epifanio Valenzuela and sisters, Trini Valenzuela, Eloisa Segura, Cruz Rodriguez and Rebecca Barrera. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren who will all miss her dearly. She lived a long, full life as a caring and loving homemaker for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and watching the birds outside her window. She loved her Lord and was a devout follower. No one was a stranger to her and she had many ?adopted? family members. We all are blessed to have so many wonderful memories of our ?Little Grandma?. Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m. Friday May 23, 2008 at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First St. (South). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 a.m. St. Ignatius Catholic Church 126 W. Oltorf St. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Bastrop County. Serving as Pallbearers are Pete Segura, Pete Torres, Ricardo Torres, Carlos Torres, Fidencio Villarreal and Lawrence Hernandez. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Brooke Army Medical Center Section 4 North. We love you and you will live forever in our hearts.
