Our beloved Edward (Lalo) Vela, passed away on April 27, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his family. Edward is preceded in death by his beloved Wife Mary, a Son; Antonio, a Granddaughter; Christina Vela and 2 Sisters. Mr. Vela served his country proudly and discharged honorably in the U.S. Army and served for 17 years. Survivors include Sons; Augustine, David, Freddie and Edward, Jr., Daughters; Clara, Helen, Beatrice, Maria Isabel, Margaret, Enriquetta, Estella and Step-Daughter; Maria Teresa, 5 loving siblings; Augustine, Manuel, Cecilia, Juanita and Beatrice, 50 Grandchildren, 91 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren He enjoyed living life with music and entertainment. His favorite phrase, ?Everything is honky doory?. He will be missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to South Austin Hospital and Hospice Austin for their care, love and support given to our loved one. Recitation of Holy Rosary Wednesday at 7:00pm at Mission Funeral Home-Remembrance Chapel. Mass of Christian burial Thursday at 10:00am, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Francisco Mu?oz Villegas, OMFConv. officiating. Internment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.
