Dolores Buentello Valdez of 3615 Munson Rd., born March 18,1921 has been called home at the age of 85.Dolores Buentello Valdez of 3615 Munson Rd., born March 18, 1921 has been called home at the age of 85.
Resting surely in the arms of her Savior, we celebrate the life of a devoted wife, beloved mother, and faithful friend.
Raised Catholic, Dolores was a committed member of St. Julia Parish.
One of her contributions included being a Guadalupana, where her calling was to be active in the church and community to help those in need.
She loved the fellowship that church activities brought, and rejoiced in the community.
Her faith sustained her and guided her life. She was ever present in the promise of the resurrection.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Esteban Valdez II, her mother Hipolita Tijerina, her brother Juan Buentello, and her sister Beatrice Vargas.
Dolores is survived by 15 sons and daughters.
Mary and Joe Montoya, Steve III and Josie Valdez, Pete and Esperanza Valdez, Margaret and Raymond Limon, Arturo and Mary Helen Valdez, Arnulfo and Mary Frances Valdez, Esmeralda and Homer Gonzales, Armando and Connie Valdez, Rose Marie Valdez, Adela Valdez, Dolores and Oscar Torres, Isabel and Tony Lopez, Teresa and Gene Hernandez, Fernando Valdez, and Yolanda and Robert Guevara.
She has 32 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, Frank Buentello and Vicente Tijerina.
Recitation of rosary Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel (south).
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church.
Rev. John Boiko will officiate.
Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe Montoya, Raymond Limon, Homer Gonzales, Oscar Torres, Tony Lopez, Gene Hernandez and Robert Guevara.
The Valdez family family would like to thank Girling Hospice as well as the doctors and staff at North Austin Medical Center.
They would also like to express sincere thanks to all extended family and friends for your love, prayers, and generosity.
