He is survived by beloved wife of 26 years Beverly Torres; children Jesse Torres Jr., Cecilia Pimentel, Susan Torres and Thomas Torres; step children Debra D?Angelo and Nicole Bailey; brothers & sisters Joe B. Torres, Angelina Sosa, Beatrice Diaz, Becky Mendoza, Josie Garcia, Fred Torres, Tim Torres and Alice Torres; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. As a beloved father, grandfather and great-grand father Jesse touched so many hearts and affected so many lives with his humble, unassuming personality. His love for those around him was expressed not always in words but in his actions and deeds. His legacy on this earth will live on through his four children whom he inspired to live as he did; with generosity, kindness, courage and strength that he displayed every day of his life. As a founding member of the East Austin Lions Club and dedicated member, Jesse reached out to the community with numerous activities for over 40 years to provide a better quality of life for those less fortunate. Through his generosity, support and guidance he assisted many in their difficult journey through life. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as pillar in their community and ambassador to a better life. Recitation of rosary Sunday, 6:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel (south). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church. Father Anthony Njoku will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you may make a donation in his name to either the America Kidney or American Heart Association.
