Our beloved Lena Salazar was called upon by our heavenly father on January 25, 2006 at the age of 84. Lena was born on April 16, 1921 to Emiliano and Natividad Ramirez in Austin, Texas.Lena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Grandma Lena enjoyed and cherished any gathering where she could spend time with her family and friends. She loved everyone and everyone loved her, she will be truly missed by all she touched. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jerry Ramirez and Conrad Ramirez, sisters; Vera Montez and Anita Torres. Daughters; Olivia Estrada and Rachel Gabriel, grandsons; Frank Estrada and Gilbert Zapata, granddaughters; Rebecca Estrada and Jennifer Salazar. Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Juan Salazar Sr., daughters, Rosie Reyna and husband Salvador of Austin and Virginia Ramirez of Michigan. Son, John Salazar Jr. and wife Isabel of Pflugerville. She is also survived by sisters; Janie Gutierrez, Inocencia Camarillo and husband Jesse, brothers; Tom Ramirez, Pete Ramirez and Joe Ramirez, 24 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Recitation of Holy Rosary will be Friday, January 27, 2006 at 7:00 p.m., Remembrance Chapel-Mission Funeral Home (Cesar Chavez). Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1206 East Ninth Street, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to express their appreciation to Debra for her special nursing care.
