Our beloved Joe ?Black? Escalante, 54, a lifelong resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 25, 2005. Survived by his beloved Mother; Maria de Jesus Escalante, 3 Sisters; Elisa Sandoval, Diana Escalante and Theresa Escalante, 3 Brothers; Ray Escalante, Robert Escalante, Richard Escalante and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Preceded in death by his beloved Father, Eulogio Escalante, 2 Sisters, Anita Diaz and Sylvia Rodriguez.
Recitation of Holy Rosary Wednesday 7:00p.m., Remembrance Chapel-Mission Funeral Home (Cesar Chavez). Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday 10:00a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Larry Mattingly, OMF Conv. officiating. Committal services will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers; Reynaldo Escalante, Johnny Sandoval, Michael Diaz, Anthony Diaz, Jason Villanueva and Robert Elizondo.
