Our beloved mother and sister Carmen R. Garcia, age 49, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 20, 2005. She was preceded in death by her brother Manuel Ortiz III; paternal grandparents Manuel Ortiz Sr. and Carmen Ortiz; maternal grandparents Salvador and Mary Rodriguez.
Survivors include: father Manuel Ortiz Jr. of Plainview, TX., mother Stella Garza of Austin, TX.; children Bernadette Lisa Tamayo and husband Vincent, Dominic Andrew Gonzales with wife Melissa, Monica Therese Gonzales, and son Christopher Michael Gonzales; siblings Carolyn Marie Gonzales, Salvador Ortiz, Patricia Ramos of Plainview, TX., Gilbert Garza II, Lori Garza, Kristine Herrera, and Tony Ortiz of Pasadena, TX.; and nine grandchildren.
Recitation of rosary was held on Thursday, at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel(South). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday 1:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Rev. Juan Carlos Lopez CSC will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Ortiz, Noe Ramos III, Jerry Ramos, Michael Medina, Oscar Medina, and Noverto Rodriguez
