Our beloved Renee Hernandez Rodriguez, age 42, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. Our beloved Renee Hernandez Rodriguez, age 42, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Carlos and Concepcion Hernandez; maternal grandfather Domingo Mendoza; father Leopoldo Hernandez Sr.; siblings Irene Hernandez, Leopoldo Hernandez Jr. Survivors include: maternal grandmother Andrea Mendoza; mother Andrea Hernandez; husband and best friend of 23 years Michael Rodriguez; son Keith, daughter Lauren; and three nephews Brandon Rivera Hernandez, Leo Candelas, Christian Hernandez whom she was helping raise since the loss of her sister; she also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Renee was employed by the City of Austin for over 20 years working most recently with the law department. Renee could always be found in the stands cheering her children on. She was their biggest fan and forever will be. Recitation of rosary Friday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Rev. Lawrence Mattingly, OFM Conv. will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Tony Mendoza, John Hernandez, Alex Calderon Jr., Alfonso Rodriguez, Rudy Quintero, and Alex Serna. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Rodriguez and Jason Castillo The family would like to extend their gratitude to the City of Austin law department. Also a special thank you to coach Bart Bractcher for his spiritual support.
