Pedro Faz ?Pinky? Maldonado was born in Austin, Texas on February 29, 1944 to Telesfloro and Petra Faz Maldonado. He departed this life in a very peaceful manner with his family and friends by his bedside on April 28, 2005.He is preceded in death by his parents, Telesforo Maldonado and Petra Faz Maldonado, sister, Lucia Imperial; brother, Antonio F. Maldonado; Grandson, Isidro Mario Rodriguez, Jr..
He is survived by his best friend, life long companion his lovely wife of 40 years; Maria Gloria Maldonado, Son; Vincent Maldonado, Daughter; Priscilla Marie Rodriguez and husband Isidro Mario, Daughter; JoAnn Maldonado, 2 beautiful Granddaughters; Sophia Otila and Gabriela Marie Rodriguez, brother; Daniel T. Rodriguez and wife Rita, sister; Elvira Lucio and husband Esiquiel, numerous uncles, aunts, In-laws, nephews and nieces, and of course all the ?Adopted friends and family he opened doors too.
?Pinky? was retired from the City of Austin for 25 years. He was a generous man, loving husband, supportive Father, and mentor to many that needed a father figure. He had a big heart, a quick smile and lots of love to share.
Recitation of Holy Rosary, Sunday 7:00pm in the Remembrance Chapel-Mission Funeral Home, East Cesar Chavez. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Larry Mattingly, OMF Conv. to officiate. Committal services will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
The family would like a special thanks to South Austin Medical Center staff and Hospice Austin?s Christopher House. Special gratitude to Dr. Dina J. Tebcherany.
Pallbearers; Robert Castillo, James Nelson, Shawn Pritchard, Mark Botello, Raul Rodriguez, Anthony Pritchard, Adrian Gonzalez and Henry Quiroz.
Honorary pallbearers; Jamie Botello, Paul Gonzalez, James Lopez and Thomas Gonzalez.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Pinky to Hospice Austin?s Christopher House.
