He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Carmona Garcia, father Leonides Garcia, sister Maria ?Nena? Mireles, brother Belan Garcia, nephews Samuel Ybarra, Julian Mireles Jr., grandson Adam Garcia, great-grandson Isaias Lombardo Jr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dora Rodriguez Garcia;sons John Jr., David, Michael, Steven and wife Sharon, Gilbert, Ray, and Daniel; daughters Janie, Irene, Mary Frances; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; brothers Leonides Jr. Dionicio, Frank, Jesse and Guadalupe; sister Stella. Recitation of rosary Friday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel (South). Funeral service will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel (South). Pastor Ricardo Martinez will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Garcia Jr., Gilbert Garcia, Fernando Castillo, John Paul Rivera, Samuel Cabrera, Steven Garcia Jr. Honorary pallbearers are David Anthony Garcia, Rosemary Castillo John served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a very courageous, strong, caring, giving, and loving man. We will miss you. Thatha, you will always be in our hearts and our memories. You leave behind a void in all our lives but we know you are in a better place clearing the pathway for us in heaven as you did here on earth. You will truly be missed. God bless you.
