He was preceded in death by parents Juan and Juanita Chapa. Survivors include: wife of 30 years Socorro M. Chapa; children Deborah Ann Chapa and husband Eric Luna, Michael Henry Chapa, Steven Andrew Chapa all of Austin; grandchildren Eric Anthony Chapa, Jason Xavier Luna; brothers Erasmo, Ruben, Ramon, Jesse, Raul and Luis Chapa; sisters Rosa Perez, Alice Monsivais, Leanor Gutierrez, Mary Gomez Recitation of rosary Friday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul?s Catholic Church. Rev. Paul McCallum will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Rene Morales, Fred Lopez, Gabriel Raymond, Robert Flores, Michael Luna, Adrian Juarez. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Chapa, Juan Chapa, Alfred Gomez, Alfred Gutierrez, Mario Alvarez, Joseph Martinez.
