Our beloved Steve V. Mendoza Jr. age 71 was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, November 22, 2004. He is survived by son Steve Mendoza of San Jose, California; sisters Lydia Mendoza; Maria Elena M. Rodriguez and husband Jesse; Aunts Jesusa V. Fuentes; Andrea H. Mendoza; Bacilia Mendoza; Uncles Pedro Montoya Vasquez; Avino Mendoza Sr. and wife Rebecca. All of Austin. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by parents Steve Mendoza Sr. and Rosa Vasquez Mendoza; sisters Bertha M. Williams; Rosie M. Martinez; brother Jacob V. Mendoza.
Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 So. First Street. Funeral mass will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Reverend Father J.C. Cain OMI will officiate. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Roger Pilney, Jeremy Haight, Bobby McLeod, Tim Hackney, Salestino Martinez,and Anthony Acosta.
Honorary pallbearers are Ray Holt, Sam Derrick, Alvino Mendoza Sr., Jesse G. Rodriguez, Robert Soto Jr.,and Charles Martinez
The family would like to thank Girling Hospice, Christopher House, Seton Hospital staff, family members, and especially friends who were there throughout his illness.
