On September 14, 2004 Pauline Perez Rangel, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend was called home by God to join him and her family that have passed before her. Pauline passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother Maria Mongaio Perez, her father Alejos Perez, her brothers Margarito Perez, Leandro Ontiberoz and Amado Perez, and her sisters Rosa Perez and Angelina Perez Bowden. Pauline is survived by her husband of 65 years Nicholas Rangel, her sister Margarita Perez Govea, her children Pete Rangel and wife Margaret, Martin Rangel and wife Delia, Beatrice and husband Lee Castro, Joe Rangel and wife Olga, Alfred Rangel and wife Bessie, Irene and husband Randy Martinez and Mary Rose and husband Alex Cano, 16 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Pauline was born on June 29, 1925 in Red Rock, Texas, then moved to Austin in 1935. She was a devout Catholic and a member of both Cristo Rey Catholic Church and St. Julia?s Catholic Church. In addition to raising her own family, she was also a mother to countless nieces and nephews that she helped raise. Through her we learned that ?family has no boundaries?, whether you are our first cousin or our fourth cousin, you are still family and you would always find unconditional love in her home. Her home was a gathering place for family, friends and neighbors filled with lots of love, food and laughter. She will always be in our hearts and live on in our memories forever. Our family would like to thank Dr. Ace Alsup III and his Nurse Barbara (last name) of Austin Internal Medicine Assoc., Evelyn Mata and Xavier Resendez of First Care and the staff of Hospice of Austin for the wonderful healthcare they provided. We would also like to thank our cousin Mary Elizabeth ?Liz? and her husband David Navejas for their assistance in taking care of our mother the last few years. We especially want to thank our sister Beatrice ?Nena? and her husband Lee for selflessly and tirelessly taking care of our mother throughout her life. Thank you to everyone for their support and prayers and above all their love.
