Obituary of Maria Guadalupe Cortinas

Our beloved Maria Guadalupe Cortinas, age 78, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 31, 2023.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.  She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Joe Yruegas; her parents, Justo G. Cortinas and Francisca Silguero Guerra; her grandson, Joseph Arturo Al-hajeri; her son-in-law, Robert Sanchez, and her brother-in-law, Teodoro Echavarria.

Maria is survived by her children, Kathren Lee "Kathy" Reyes and her husband, Jorge, Lene Andrews and her husband Matthew, Libby Jean Ream and her husband, Bryan Andrew, Jessica Ann Sanchez, and Jacqueline Ann "Jackie" Ettles and her husband, Andy; her grandchildren, Ashley Reyes Al-hajeri, Julia Maria Reyes, Daniel Reyes, Chanet Lee Andrews, Joseph Lee Andrews, Cameron Jacob Lassiter, Khamonte "KJ" Johnson and his wife, Paige, Lulu Maria Andrews and her husband, Christian, Sofia Morgan Ream, Sasha Francis Ream, Lainey Sanchez, Santana Guiterrez and his wife, Sidney Randel, and Daylin Ettles; her great grandchildren, Isaiah Joseph Al-hajeri, Jeremiah Daniel Al-hajeri, Zachariah Benjamin Al-hajeri, Micaiah David Al-hajeri, Jayla Anises Andrews, Leon Johnson, William Johnson, Mateo Jose Arellano, and Marceline Jean Gutierrez; her sister, Inez Echavarria; her brother, Ramon Guerra Cortinas and his wife, Beverly Crites, as well as several nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored pallbearers will be Jorge Reyes, Matthew Andrews, Bryan Andrew Ream, and Andy Ettles.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. The Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6 at St. Ignaitus Martyr Catholic Church, 120 W. Oltorf St., Austin, Texas.  The public services for Ms. Cortinas will conclude following Mass.
