Obituary of Juan Ortiz

Our beloved Juan “John” Ortiz, 31, resident of Austin, formerly of Roby, Texas, born December 23, 1972, was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday March 17, 2004.John was a loving husband, father, and son, who loved and cared for everyone. He was a very hard working man who would show his love through his cooking. Of his many endeavors, John was especially proud of working with Enron Energy in Trent, Texas. John struggled with cancer for several months but he never gave up. He was a firm believer of family and always stressed the importance of family unity.

 

John is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Laurie, his daughters Veronica Michelle and Anjanique Brianna, his son Juan Jr. and stepson Jonathan Hernandez. He is also survived by his mother Basilia Mercedes Ortiz, aunts, uncles, and many cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his father Anastacio Ortiz of Roby, Texas and his grandparents Eduardo and Conrrada Colmenero of Mathis, Texas.

 

Recitation of the rosary will be Sunday, 7:00 pm, at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Richard Hall O.M.I. will officiate. Private services will follow.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Rodriguez, Max Colmenero, Eddie Colmenero, Jonathan Hernandez, and Lloyd Coble.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez, Chris Colmenero, Eddy Luna, Randy Hernandez and BJ Leal.

 

Special thanks goes to the many friends and family that stood by John through his courageous battle with cancer, and to Innovative Aftermarket Systems Inc. for their patience and understanding and especially to Hospice for making him most comfortable.
