Our beloved Maria Esperanza ?Hopie? Martinez, 50, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 5, 2004.Survived by her Beloved husband of 30 years; Ernest Martinez, Daughters; Connie Martinez, Christine Martinez, Deborah Martinez, Son; Christian Mendez all of Austin. Hopie is also survived by five brothers, five sisters and granddaughter Taliah Elyse Rebollar, her pride and joy. Hopie was preceded in death by her parents Domencio and Consuelo Mendoza and a Grandson Christian Matthew Mendez. The Martinez family expresses their gratitude to Capitol Dialysis Southwood Branch staff, St. David?s ICU nurses and staff for their care and support given to our mother during her illness. Recitation of rosary will be Sunday 7:00 pm at the Chapel Mission Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 Monday at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Larry Mattingly will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Maria Esperanza Martinez to the Kidney Foundation.
