Obituary of Armando C. Benavides, Sr.

Our beloved Armando C. Benavides, Sr., was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 18, 2020. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christobal Benavides, Sr. and Audelia Cantu Benavides; brothers, Roy Benavides, Joe Benavides, Christobal and Raymond Benavides; and sister, Patsy Ann Benavides.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Esther Lara Benavides; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and William Shafford; son and daughter-in-law, Armando and Anna Benavides, Jr.; grandchildren: Lauren, Emily, and Charles Shafford and Rolando, Alex, and Mia Benavides; brothers, Jesse Benavides and Gilbert Benavides; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Benavides and his wife, Yolanda; sisters and their husbands: Alice and Johnny Gonzalez, Mary and Joe Bernal, and Annie and Manuel Arellano; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity – South Side 6204 South First Street; Austin, Texas 78745. Scripture Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity – South Side 6204 South First Street; Austin, Texas 78745. Interment will follow.
