Obituary of Silas Paul Woods, Jr.

Silas Paul Woods, Jr., age 94, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2017.  

He was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on September 27, 1923.  He married Grace Elizabeth Hall Woods on June 4, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas.  Shortly after his marriage to Grace, Paul joined the Armed Forces.  He is a veteran of WWII where he served in the Army as a medic providing care for wounded soldiers on hospital trains.  Paul worked for General Motors for 29 years.  During his time at GM, he took great pride in working with robotic technology as it was introduced into the auto industry.

Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Grace Elizabeth Hall Woods; an infant son, Robert Glen Woods; his parents, Silas Paul and Mozelle, Sr.; three sisters, Mercedes, Sarah, and Kiki, and brother, Keith Woods.

He leaves behind his sons, Phil Woods and wife, Nancy, Arnold Woods and wife, Sherry, and Sammy Woods; eight grandchildren, Phillip (Teresa) Woods, Jr., Rachel (Armando) Garza, Sarah (Santiago) Jaramillo, Arno (Ruth) Woods, Blayne Woods, Desiree' Ruzek, Lee (Melody) Woods, and Jeremy (Tonya) Woods; ten great grandchildren, Hunter Woods, Lauren Garza, Tyler Woods, Amber Garcia, Christine Eng, Gabby Woods, James Atalisay, Lyn Atalisay, Grayson  Woods, and Jay Woods; two sisters, Anita (Ray) Herring and Ann (Robert) Furry; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Graveside Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Service, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, Moore Memorial Park Cemetery, 1219 N. Davis Dr, Arlington, Texas.  Interment will follow.
