Our beloved Margarita Marquez, age 97, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, January 1, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Domingo A. Marquez; her father and mother, Lazaro and Leocadia Sosa; her siblings Prudencio, Mateo, Luz, Jose Ezekiel, Tomasita, Jose, and Pilar Flores; her sons-in-law Jimmie Acuña and Frank Ramos; and great-grandson, Noah Michael Cordova. She is survived by her daughters Josephine Cordova and husband, Carlos, Gloria Acuña, Rose Mary Krusekopf and husband, Keith, Linda Ramirez and husband, Albert, Julia Ann Ramirez and husband, Joe, Margie Leyendecker and husband, Robert; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren. The pallbearers will be Miguel Guerrero, James Acuña-Miller, David Ramos, Joseph Mata, Joey Ramirez, Pete Lopez. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Sosa, Mike Sosa, and Lupe Sosa. The family would like to thank Dr. Pete Garcia and his wife Alice, and Amed Hospice for the excellent care given to their mother, as well as her caregivers Martha Ramos, Maria Cano, Alma Cano, Maria Louisa Benitez, Ruth Cordova, and Raquel Gonzalez. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St, followed by a celebration of Margarita’s life at 11:00 a.m., Thursday January 7, 2016 at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
